Emotion map

This piece is another exploration of visualizing data, inspired by artist Giorgia Lupi. Each color represents a different emotion or state of being. A self-imposed constraint was to start on the left side of the paper every time and move to the right side so that it represented a timeline of my day. This helped me notice patterns of repeating feelings. This large mosaic piece is composed of several smaller works. Many of the pieces repeat, which shows that sometimes life can feel like a timeless loop. The goal of this project was to treat it as art therapy and free my mind. The physical action of translating my emotions through my hands to create art was therapeutic, especially with the smooth textures of oil pastels.
