I was fortunate enough to work with a real-life client who created a start-up called Pop Up Docs. Our semester-long project was to create a brand book for this new company. The company wanted to emphasize the fact that they helped communities learn how to use software and technology. Based on their goals and mission, I worked with the idea of the simple and universal “Play” button. Each detail of the logo helped bring an exciting and modern aspect to highlight the brand's identity. This class was enjoyable as it tied together my interests in graphic design and entrepreneurship/visual marketing.
The Task

About Pop Up Docs
Pop Up Docs™ is a mobile documentary film workshop and video editing studio (on wheels) that provides skills-building workshops for aspiring documentary storytellers from traditionally underrepresented populations.
This entrepreneurial project offers an opportunity to further democratize visual storytelling by centering the power and representation of diverse creators.
Pop Up Docs™ envisions a world where young people of color are empowered to tell their authentic stories so that media is truly representative of the communities it is meant to serve.
Ideation/Process
I went through several iterations from typography and color palettes to iconography.
Final Logo
This logo incorporates their slogan “Drive Your Story Home,” and showcases two forms of the logo: one with the logo image interacting with the text and one with the logo image and text separated.
